New Business Processing Year-End Guidelines for 2025 Production

Target dates to pay cases

Non-underwritten annuity new business

The Home Office must receive all pending, non-underwritten annuity new business applications and all outstanding requirements by the end of business on Monday, Dec. 15

Life policies, long-term care protection and underwritten annuities for all companies

  • Underwriting must approve the case.
  • The Home Office must receive by end of business on Monday, Dec. 15, all delivery requirements, fully completed, including but not limited to:
    • Initial premium
    • Certificates of Insurability
    • Bank draft authorization
    • 1035/Transfer funds received
  • Any pending cases with a request for reissue or plan change must be received in the Home Office by end of business on Monday, Dec. 15, to ensure processing time for both Underwriting and New Business.

  • All policy changes must be received by the Home Office by end of business on Monday, Dec. 15.
  • Underwriting must approve the changes, when applicable.
  • Changes include, but are not limited to:
    • Conversions
    • GIO exercises

Year-end commission processing

As a reminder, Tuesday, Dec. 30, is the last day for commission processing for 2025. Commissions processed on or after Wednesday, Dec. 31, will be considered 2026 business and released on Statement Day, Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026.

2025 RMD deadline

Clients who wish to take a required minimum distribution (RMD) from their OneAmerica Financial company policy should do so by Friday, Dec. 19, to ensure processing by year end. Action items include:

  • Contact clients to set up an automatic RMD with one of these two options:
    • Complete form 8-18249 (Required Minimum Distribution Election).
    • Request a one-time RMD using form 8-17730 (Partial Withdrawal) and include “RMD withdrawal.” 
  • Ensure a completed IRS W-4R form is submitted with the request to ensure that the appropriate federal taxes are withheld.

Please note, automatic RMDs are not available for Annuity Care, Annuity Care II, Annuity Care III or Indexed Annuity Care products.
