Genworth: Sponsoring Turner Classic Movies Film Festival in April.

Genworth is a well respected leader in the products we offer – but we are not broadly known to the consumers we serve. We know that can make your job harder so we want to help shine some light on who we are, what we do and why it matters to families in a way that transcends the specific products and services we offer.

Our goal is to drive the perception of Genworth as the company more families trust to meet their financial protection needs. To start, we’re focusing in the U.S. on our long term care business. To do so, we’ll center on ways to encourage people to have the often awkward or difficult conversations about how to financially protect themselves and their loved ones—an approach you are familiar with from our “Let’s Talk” campaigns.

You’ll see these activities evolve throughout the year, building on our foundation of strong thought leadership and education. In the near term, we will be sponsoring the Turner Classic Movies Film Festival —an annual event that attracts about 25,000 movie lovers from around the world. The theme of the event, which runs from April 10-13 in Hollywood, California, is “Family in the Movies: The Ties that Bind.” We’ll be sponsoring the “Aging Parent” movie series as well as the talks before each movie given by an actor or director of the picture. And we’ll be on site with a Genworth lounge, where people can recharge their mobile devices, get a cup of coffee, relax and learn more about Genworth. In all, our presence at the festival will help begin to align Genworth with the family and conversation.
