Custom Care III featuring Benefit Builder is now available in 4 additional states
We are pleased to announce that Custom Care III featuring Benefit Builder is now available in 4 additional states: Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, and New York. Please note: There are no changes at this time to the NY State Partnership. Also, all Custom Care III applications for current rates that have been signed as of January 27, 2013, but have yet to be submitted, must be received in the Home Office by February 4, 2013.

Underwriting guideline changes effective February 4, 2013
As a leader in the LTC insurance industry, John Hancock remains committed to reviewing our underwriting guidelines and protocols on an annual basis. This includes a review, under the guidance of our Medical Director, of existing guidelines along with a review of current medical information and research. The goal of this comprehensive and ongoing process is to ensure that best practices are in place to continually provide a strong, reliable product for both consumers and distributors. Application updates in Florida and New York
Both the W-9 form and a new beneficiary form have been built into the application booklets in Florida and New York, which are availabe to order now (fillable applications are available as well). While the new forms have been added, signed applications without these completed forms are accepted until John Hancock communicates its implementation date for the required forms. We will provide more information in upcoming Newslinks.

Iowa DRA Partnership “Like for Like” exchange mailing to mail next week
The state of Iowa allows for certain existing policyholders with contracts issued on and after February 1, 2003 an opportunity to exchange their policies for those that qualify for Partnership status. Read this article for timing and complete details on producer and policyholder mailings.
Colorado DRA Partnership forms revised – updated application booklets available for order on February 5th
Colorado has revised its DRA Partnership regulation which required the re-filing of two forms. The new forms, LTC-PRT CO 2/13 and LTC-OC-PRT CO 2/13, will replace the previously approved forms, LTC-PRT CO 5/11 and LTC-OC-PRT CO 10/07. Updated application booklets that now include the LTC-OC-PRT CO 2/13 will be available to order on jhltc.com on February 5th.
