Back on August 13, 2012, the new product became available in the 36 Interstate Compact states. Support materials available for Minnesota “Own Your Future” campaign launching on Friday, September 28th
A public information effort sponsored by the United States Department of Health and Services and the participating state, “Own Your Future” encourages individuals to plan for long-term care needs. On September 28th, in the state of Minnesota, over one million individuals will receive a letter from the Governor focused on considering your long-term care needs, supplemented by an email campaign (to 500,000) and Google campaign. Reminder: Kiplinger reprint article now available
The November 2012 issue of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance included a two-page educational article from the American Association of Long-Term Care Insurance, sponsored by John Hancock. Revisions to New York Partnership regulations – Materials affected
As a reminder, on June 1, 2012, New York joined the National Reciprocity Compact for the recognition of Medicaid Asset Protection for member states with Deficit Reduction Act (DRA) Long-Term Care Partnership programs. This change allows a DRA Partnership policyholder who moves to New York state to take advantage of dollar-for-dollar asset reciprocity if later applying to New York’s Medicaid program to cover continued care. Partnership Endorsement mailing to select policyholders to take place later this month
After a recent internal review, it was discovered that certain policyholders did not receive a particular DRA Partnership Issue Date endorsement along with a letter and DRA Partnership Notice indicating that their policies were Partnership-qualified. Click here to learn more.
