Prudential: LTC Customer Service Center Continues to Provide Service; WI & TX begin inforce rate increases

LTC Customer Service Center Continues to Provide Service

Prudential Long-Term Care recently announced that it has discontinued the sale of its Individual Long-Term Care Insurance products effective March 30, 2012. Since the announcement was made, our new business area and customer service center have experienced a significantly higher than usual volume of applications and telephone inquiries.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any delays you may experience as a result of this influx of business and understand that we have taken steps to help alleviate the processing delays and longer-than-usual telephone wait times.

We assure you that we will continue to provide a dedicated staff of associates to answer any questions you or your clients may have both now and in the future regarding Prudential long-term care insurance policies. The customer service line remains unchanged: (800) 732-0416.

(TX, WI) Policyholders to be Notified of ILTC1 Premium Rate Increase

Prudential Long-Term Care had announced earlier last year its intent to file with state insurance regulators for a premium rate increase on ILTC1 long-term care insurance policies, its first generation product. Responses were recently received from the states of Texas and Wisconsin, permitting implementation of the change in premium.

At this time, we want you to be aware that we are preparing to mail notification letters to affected policyholders in the states of Texas and Wisconsin on Monday, April 23, 2012. For Texas this will include policyholders with an effective date preceding July 1, 2002. Copies of the letters will be sent to producers two days prior to the policyholder mailings. You are not required to take any action, but may do so at your discretion. The letter will include the new premium amount that will become effective on the next billing date following the effective date of Monday, July 2, 2012 for the states of Texas and Wisconsin.
