ANNOUNCEMENT: Changing Your Agents & Agencies Portal Password

 

Effective May 28, LifeSecure Insurance Company will require all users to change their password for the LifeSecure Agents & Agencies portal every six months. The following message and additional details come from Dean Poster, LifeSecure’s Senior IT Manager and lead Information Privacy/Security Officer.

The security of the data and personal information that we strive to protect is a matter we take very seriously at LifeSecure. Like you, we are well aware of the numerous data breaches that have recently made news headlines. Last year it was customer credit card data that was compromised at several major retailers. More recently the news shifted to health insurance companies, as two enormous breaches impacted millions of people. Personal Health Information as well as Social Security Numbers were compromised in these breaches, which opened the risk of health care fraud and identity theft.

Here at LifeSecure we take great pride in our technology. Our advanced information systems enable us to process applications and pay commissions very quickly. We are proud that we have the ability to adapt our products and services quickly based on feedback from agents and policyholders. The technology that enables these capabilities also comes with a heavy responsibility to protect the personal data of our policyholders and agents.

Therefore, we have decided to follow Information Security best practices and align with new guidance that was recently released by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. Effective May 28, we will require all agents to change their password for the LifeSecure Agents & Agencies portal every six months.

Additional details on the process for changing your password are as follows:

  • If you change your password at any time before May 28, your new password will expire in six months.
  • If you do not change your password before May 28, you will be prompted to do so the next time you log into your Agents & Agencies portal.
  • You will receive a reminder to reset your password each day within 10 days of its expiration.
  • If you do not reset your password before it expires, you will be prompted to do so the next time you log into your Agents & Agencies portal.

We appreciate our agents and will continue to do everything we can to make selling LifeSecure products simple and fast for you. However we cannot compromise the trust that applicants place in us when they provide us with their personal information. As business partners, we look forward to continuing to work together to keep this information safe!

*** Note: this change does not affect the user id and password that are needed to order sales and marketing materials through the Agents & Agencies portal. ***
