New Underwriting Guideline Offering

We appreciate the business that you are sending our way and want to keep you informed of updates to our guidelines in order to earn more of your business.

Our underwriting guidelines require the client to have been seen for an exam within the past 2 years.

Recently underwriting has offered a Paramed Exam and Labs in lieu of an established physician and physical exam/assessment.  Thus the clients would have a choice (see below).

  1. Establish and complete the exam with their own physician while the application is in house.  Our apps are good for 90 days, hopefully the clients would get the exams by then.
  2. Be willing to do a Paramed and labs.  We order and pay for on our end.  If they choose to do the Paramed and Labs and they are favorable, a preferred rating is possible

Please note the following:

  • This is an option for applicants age 59 and below that do not require medical records (we APS for cause)
  • Age 60 and older require medical records, if client has not seen their physician they will need to do so.  An application can be sent in but will not be underwritten until after the exam with their physician.

With either option we will not automatically decline if the application comes in and there is no evidence of an exam, as we have done in the past.  We would keep the case open for either option 1 or 2 but they must understand that either 1 or 2 needs to be met (and favorable) in order for us to approve a policy.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact your Sales Director or Account Executive.
