After an extensive study of cases conducted earlier this year, we are implementing a new underwriting process. Starting on 8-14, Underwriting will now review each piece of underwriting evidence as it is received, then determine if and what additional underwriting requirements are needed. This means medical records may not be needed in all underwriting cases. When medical records are needed, they will be ordered either during the initial review of the application, or after review of the prescription history, MIB, and telephone interview. The goal of this change is to improve overall turnaround time. This change plus other underwriting changes will be shown in detail on the express notification on 8-9. The agent and underwriting guide is currently being updated to reflect all the changes. Another communication will be sent when it is ready to order. If you have any questions regarding this change or any other changes to our process, please contact your Sales Director to schedule a call.
