Changes to the Confidentiality and Privacy Amendment.
Take some time to look over the changes that will be made to the Confidentiality and Privacy Amendment.
Due to changes in the HIPAA privacy and security rules, the Confidentiality and Privacy Amendment will need to be updated in order to comply with these changes. The updates that impact all distribution partners and their subcontractors will be communicated to them via email beginning September 3, 2013.
Some of the changes that will be in effect include:
- Distribution partners will be directly liable for compliance with HIPAA security and specific parts of the HIPAA privacy rules
- Distribution partners will be subject to enforcement provisions of HIPAA
Note: Please discontinue using the current privacy agreement after September 23, 2013 and begin using the new Confidentiality and Privacy Amendment effective September 24, 2013.
