Dear Distribution Partners,
Thank you for your patience as we process the massive influx of life applications due to the WA Cares Fund. Here’s an update.
Updates for Nov. 17, 2021
- As a reminder, we are not accepting new applications for life insurance from Washington state.
- If you submitted applications after the July 30, 2021, deadline and they were not submitted electronically through iPipeline or Porch, we will suspend work on these applications unless you contact us by December 31, 2021. If the applicant is still interested in pursuing coverage, please email NationwideWA@nationwide.com and we will reopen the application.
- For currently pending policies, Nationwide will issue the policy with an effective date of Oct. 28, 2021, while the proceeds will be applied on the issue date (or the date received if proceeds are received after the issue date).
- NOTE: Nationwide cannot provide guidance as to whether policies with an effective date prior to Nov. 1, 2021, but not issued prior to Nov. 1, 2021, will satisfy the requirements of the WA Cares Fund. Please consult your tax professional.
- Additional premium may be required.
- Due to the volume of requirements that have been received on approved Washington applications and increased volumes as a result of year end processing, expect delays in placing business in force for Washington applications.
- The UNDWA@nationwide.com email address closed on Nov. 15, 2021.
- For case specific underwriting inquiries, please contact the underwriter assigned to your application.
- To submit requirements, please use the Life Pending Tracker for fastest service, or email LifeApps@nationwide.com.
- For Case Management inquiries, please email NationwideWA@nationwide.com.
Please continue to monitor your applications for any outstanding requirements and submit them as soon as possible on the Life Pending Tracker.
Thank you for trusting Nationwide to provide life insurance for your clients. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we process business as quickly and efficiently as possible.
