Now available: Subsidized scholarships for licensed insurance agents
The ILTCI Conference Association Board is pleased to announce a subsidized scholarship program in 2013 for licensed insurance agents who are not home office employees. This scholarship will provide $600 towards the individual registration fee of $995 (or $895 Early Bird before January 10th, 2013) to the 13th Annual Intercompany LTCI Conference at the Hilton Anatole, Dallas, TX, from March 3-6, 2013.

Enhancement to claims section on consumer website
John Hancock is pleased to announce an enhancement to the claims section of its existing consumer website, www.johnhancockltc.com. The site now provides an overview of the claims process, an FAQ, and a claims glossary to help policyholders and their family members better understand the steps involved in establishing a claim, as well as what they can expect during the claim’s duration.

Massachusetts enacts revisions to MassHealth eligibility and recovery requirements and new producer training requirements
Massachusetts recently enacted Senate Bill 2359. In addition to directing the Massachusetts Insurance Commissioner to revise the existing MA LTC regulation and promulgate the NAIC Long-Term Care Insurance Model Regulation (2009), the new legislation revises MassHealth eligibility and recovery exemptions rules; and adopts NAIC producer training requirements. New California regulation requires disclosure
California Assembly Bill 999 was recently enacted and its requirements take effect on January 1, 2013. While many of its provisions concern premium rate increases and amends existing rules, there are new consumer disclosure requirements which John Hancock will be implementing at the beginning of 2013.
