Mutual of Omaha experienced another record setting year of LTCi production in 2011. Brokerage production increased 53% in 2011, over 2010. In addition, we’re off to an exceptional start in 2012.
We have taken corrective action over the last year by increasing our underwriting staff by 88%. In addition, we added six underwriting support staff members to assist our underwriting team. We continue to make improvements, in order to achieve our targeted service levels. However, it’s been challenging due to an influx of applications coming in due to our recent New Business rate adjustment on inflation protection and Future Purchase Option.
