MetLife: Restructuring of MetLife Companies to Brighthouse

Important information if you sold MetLife LTCI in the past.  From a March 10, 2017 letter sent to all MetLife producers, past and present:

MetLife is in the process of moving its main individual life insurance, disability, annuity and a small portion of group insurance business, as well as certain long term care products into a new, independent company. In connection with that move, MetLife is renaming several of its subsidiary companies, which we are planning to move to the new independent company and operate under the Brighthouse Financial brand. As part of this process, we are changing the name of “MetLife Insurance Company USA” to “Brighthouse Life Insurance Company”, effective March 6, 2017.

Please see below for important information regarding the company name change.

All financial advisors appointments will remain the same, but the name of the issuing company will change to Brighthouse Life Insurance Company. No action is required by the advisor.
